Cookie policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Summary: this site uses no cookies, analytics, tracking pixels or advertising. That's why we don't show you a consent banner.

What cookies are

Small files a site stores in your browser to remember you or follow what you do. Similar technologies, such as local storage, also keep data on your device.

What we do store

kanago-lang · local storage · until you clear it

Remembers whether you prefer the site in Spanish or English. It is strictly necessary for that feature, is never sent to a server and can't identify you.

kanago-github-stars · local storage · until you clear it

Saves the repository’s last public star count and when it was fetched. Keeps the counter available on reload or if GitHub does not respond. It contains no personal data and is not sent to any server.

Third parties

The site loads no third-party content that sets cookies: fonts are your system's and every image is served from our own domain. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may log technical data for each visit (such as IP addresses) for security, without cookies.

To show the stars beside the GitHub link, your browser queries GitHub’s public API when the link appears on screen. The request uses no cookies or credentials; the public count is saved in the local cache described above. GitHub receives technical request data, such as your IP address, under its privacy statement.

Inside the app

The KanaGO! app uses no cookies. The only exception is song videos: the YouTube player that opens inside the app may use Google cookies or similar technologies under its cookie policy.

How to clear what's stored

You can clear this site's local storage in your browser settings (in Safari, for example: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data). The site keeps working and simply falls back to its default language.

Changes

If we ever add cookies, we'll update this page and ask for your consent first where required. For more, read the privacy policy.
